Our locksmith has a store front and that is where we purchased the Sclage Primus model. I then found out that the TruValue hardware store in our area could special order them for me at a lower price than I paid at the locksmith. My hubby installed them, however, at least I saved the labor.

Contact a locksmith that has a retail store, and just buy the lock from there. You can also go to the lock manufacturer’s website and pull up a list of authorized dealers.
I would also do some more research on which locks have key bumping vulnerabilities. From what I’ve learned about key bumping myself, a number of supposed high-security locks can still be bumped. If this is something that concerns you, you might also wish to hire a security consultant to review weaknesses at your property and recommend other measures to improve security (alarm systems, CCTV, additional access control systems, etc)

im not sure where you live, but a commerical hardware company has these locks. the primus core type locks and used where you might want to change the keying many times without changing the whole lock. they are very expensive but worth it if you need different keys on different doors, they are about 300-600 dollars

Come on, have you never heard of HOME DEPOT!? They have Schlage. And yes you can install them yourself! All it there is too it is about 6 or 8 screwes. You can even buy this stuff over the intermet and have it shipped to you. You can even have them keyed alike so you don’t have 3 different sets of keys! Any lumber yard or home center or hardware store will carry the lock sets you seek.

If home depot carries schlage then they can order if for you.

i am a security professional that works in a jail. First hire a good locksmith and follow his or her sound advice. “you can install it yourself” are the famous last words of just some of my customers. Locks need to to be properly matched to the threat level. For example do you live in a high crime area? or in an apt bld.? do you rent? on the ground floor? do you have an alarm? are all your windows properly locked?
this is to all who read this post do you or did you EVER live in a house or apt where the real estate agent or landlord gave you the key and you moved in and lived there without changing the combination the the doors? Thats right someone else has a key to your house. Don’t beleive me? Do you have a key to an old residence?
hire a locksmith and listen to them! install an alarm! Trim the bushes. install motion lights. and sleep well at night.
