Cool, arent they?
Whether you are looking to secure your home or your office, a Schlage entry lock is a good choice for security. You want something that is sturdy, long lasting and still good looking. There are, of course, a number of locks on the market, but if you want to be sure that you are getting the best, you should look at Dexter locks, which are also made by Schlage. The Schlage entry lock is just one of many types of locks offered by the professional security company. They have an offshoot business under the name of Dexter locks, which are also of top quality. These deadbolt locks can help prevent theft. Home invasions are scary for everyone who is a victim of one. If you are there when the burglary takes place, it is entirely possible that you or a family member will be injured, but even if you aren’t there or even if the burglary takes place at your office, you will find that it is still nerve wracking. Having someone break into your personal space can make you feel insecure and violated and, unfortunately, those feelings tend persist for a long time. Ensuring that your home and office are as secure as possible can help you recover from a theft, but it’s far better to prevent one in the first place. Dexter by Schlage is a solid, long-lasting lock that you can trust to ensure entry security. If you don’t trust the current locks in your doors, it’s a good idea to select new ones which will give you the sense of security that you need. What Makes a Schlage Entry Lock Secure? Entry security is important, but most locks aren’t built to really withstand much in the way of pressure. Schlage entry locks are built out of stronger metal that will resist saws and other tools that may be used in an attempt to compromise the lock. They are also designed to be useless with lockpicking tools, which is what many burglars use. A Dexter lock is designed with the Schlage ideals, built to be strong, but also built elegant enough that you would be thrilled to have these locks in your home or office. They come in a range of styles, with a variety of finishes to choose from, meaning that you are bound to find something that matches your style or even existing hardware in your home or office. Selecting the right lock, such as Dexter by Schlage, is vital in protecting your home and family. Remember that most burglars are already experienced. They aren’t going to spend a lot of time trying to get into a well-secured home, not when they can simply pop the lock in the next house. By using a strong lock, you can deter any would-be burglars. Many people don’t realize that thieves are lazy and will stick to easy pickings. Your entry security should be the best possible. While you need to protect windows or any other possible entry points, the fact is that the entrance is the first place that most burglars will go to. With home and office invasions occurring more and more often, now is the best time to start thinking about putting in better locks. When choosing a good entry security system, you should certainly consider Dexter locks, which are similar in design to Schlage entry locks. They offer the best security against kick ins, lock picking and cutting tools, which means your doors will be safer than ever before. The added advantage of Dexter by Schlage is that you can order them online making it extremely easy to get new locks for your entire home and your office, no matter how busy you are.

How Much Would It Cost To Add Power Locks & Keyless Remote Entry To A 2007 Chevy Aveo?
3 Comments | Posted by admin in Lock
I just bought my car, and it was a steal for only $7,000. The only problem is that I have no power locks or windows, I can live without the windows but, I just dont like having to unlock my passenger’s doors all the time. I really do love my car, and it’s my first one, so I’m already attached.
Also, I couldn’t afford power locks or windows, but I might be able to manage adding them. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!!
As someone walks up to your entry door whether it?s to your home or office it?s important that you are making an impression on them beginning with your entry door. The type of entry door that you are using is going to tell a lot about you. So this is one very important aspect of design. There are going to be many things that you are going to need to take into consideration when you are trying to leave a lasting impression on your guest.
Let?s start off with the type of door that you can use. There are so many different entry doors that you can use. You can use wood doors, aluminum doors, and PVC doors. Each of these types of entry doors will have many other separate choices for you to make. Wood entry doors have so many different choices not only in the design but also in the type of wood that you can choose your door in.
The design of your entry door is mainly going to be based on the already existing style design that you have for your home. You want everything to blend together. This will help to greatly reduce the choices but you are still going to have to make a decision from a large amount of choices.
When you are trying to chose there is something very important that you must take into consideration, and that is the security of the door. The design of your door, and the style and color is very important, but the security of your property is going to be even more important. What is the sense of having a door that looks great if an intruder can easily gain access to your property, not much I would say.
If you are looking for a wood entry door, it?s important that you chose a solid wood door. This has many advantages, such as the ability to keep the cold out, and it is a great security measure. It?s not easy to break through a solid wood door.
The next thing that you will need to do in order to add security to your entry door is buying a good deadbolt. Deadbolts that are longer and thicker are going to increase the security of the door.
Following these few guidelines is going to greatly increase the safety of your property, and you can definitely rest assured that it is not going to be very likely that someone is going to be able to gain access when you are not there.
Of course there are also many high tech ways that you can begin increasing the security of your home, and still maintain a wonder and beautiful design to your entry doors. There are many online companies that you can find keyless door locks, add video surveillance and fingerprint entry access.
The choice of security that you opt to use is going to be a personal decision, and it is usually based on budget. You can find many door companies online that offer various door hardware that will help you to increase the security of your entry doors without costing you an arm and a leg.
There is nothing better than discovering new ways to easily improve the design of your home or office. Quality Door & Hardware is currently celebrating being in business for 20 years. We offer top quality service and complete knowledge of door hardware.

Improved Lincoln Mkz Ups the Entry Level Luxury Car Ante
0 Comments | Posted by admin in Lock
Who knew that Lincoln could produce such a gorgeous looking entry level luxury car? Not I, for I’ve been critical of Ford for many years for neglecting its erstwhile luxury brand. When the original Lincoln Zephyr was introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model and quickly renamed the MKZ one year later, I thought that Ford management had lost it. After all, renaming a model is taboo especially once the initial product launch has taken place.
Still, Ford has been full of surprises these past few years, upstaging rival General Motors with a broader mix of fuel efficient vehicles, quality on par with Honda and Toyota, and a new design direction for Lincoln. Almost suddenly, Ford is remaking Lincoln’s image by releasing the hit MKS in 2008 and with the MKT crossover slated to bow next summer.
But, we’re not talking about these two other models, rather the focus is on the MKZ, which has been redesigned for the 2010 model year and will be made available at Lincoln-Mercury dealers in Spring 2009. This model is a vast improvement over the capable first generation MKZ, representing an even more distinctive separation from the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, two other midsize models sharing the same platform as the MKZ.
For the 2010 model, MKZ will get a much more plusher interior, fresh design, and include new features such as Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert (CTA), designed to make navigating traffic and parking lots much safer and easier.

Are you one of those people who try to avoid even the most minor annoying factors in your life whenever you can? If you belong to this category of people, you’ll want to do whatever you can to get rid of as many annoying daily issues as possible. You’ll want to do whatever you can to make your life simpler. For example, how many times do you have to dig your house keys out of your pocket or purse just to get into your house? How many times do you need to do it with a load of groceries or other items in your arms? It’s really annoying. Why not get rid of that annoyance and consider getting a keyless entry system for your home?
Home entry systems that involve a keyless entry process can let you get into your home simply by pushing a series of numbers or letters onto a keypad. The keyless entry system is usually mounted near the door handle for your convenience. You can buy these kinds of systems alone or in combination with a home security package. Before making your decision, take a look at the various home security options near your home.
With or without a home security system, the keyless entry pad gives you the convenience of not having to grab for your keys; it also prevents anyone from picking the lock on your door in order to burglarize your home. If you buy the entire security package, even if the intruder can get past the front door, the rest of the system – usually a series of detectors and alarms – will provide you with another level of protection altogether. Most burglars avoid homes that are guarded with keyless entries and alarm systems and will move onto another home. Your home would be effectively protected.
If you don’t know much about home security systems, check the Internet and explore the possible systems available to you. You’ll probably find more than one company that provides services in your area and can price the systems directly from your computer. Look for a company with an excellent record and one that has response times that are prompt and effective. Make sure the monthly fee is reasonable and that you don’t have to sign a contract for several years. In addition, you can look to see who in your neighborhood has the various systems and ask them what they think. Between the two, you’ll find a home security system that appeals to you and that can be installed in just a few days.
I think you’ll be happy with the decision to purchase a keyless entry system, especially if it’s in conjunction with a home security system. Your everyday life will be much simpler and your home will be significantly more secure than before. It’s not just a matter of getting rid of the annoyance of digging for your keys, it’s a comfort measure and security measure.

Say good-bye to clunky keychains and hidden emergency keys, with the new electronic deadbolt technology you can open your door with the press of a finger. These slick new units from Schlage are controlled by a keypad that can be automated from a computer or cell phone.
Throw away your keys and unlock your doors by entering a four-digit pass code. “Big deal”, you say ? “a key, a pass code, what’s the difference?” Well, it does have its advantages. You can assign each family member a separate code, and then program the device to advise you via cell phone when your kids or spouse gets home. Assign a different number to your babysitter or housekeeper and later review a list of which codes were used to open the house and at which times.
You can also program the system to turn on house lights when the door is unlocked so that you never have to enter a dark house.
An average starter kit is about $299 plus $12.99 per month to communicate signals from the lock to cell phone or computer. This allows you to program up to 30 separate doors.
An alternative to the keypad entry system is the RFID or Radiofrequency ID electronic deadbolt. Simply push a button and wave a special card in front of the door to access entry.
An even higher tech electronic lock is accessed via the occupant’s fingerprint. Not just for ultra-security corporations, these are becoming increasingly popular for residential use. It uses thermal sensors that detect if an actual person is applying the fingerprint. Some models have combination fingerprint and access code features. The Biometric fingerprint lock is the most popular version and identifies a person’s unique fingerprint pattern by using a scanner. This is considered the only true keyless entry door lock.
After speaking to various people who use a Biometric lock, I heard many similar comments. The fingerprint only detects correctly in about one out of four attempts. There also seems to be a problem with the initial registering of the fingerprints, and some people claim they are unable to ever have their fingerprint detected.

In 1983 this was a question millions of people were asking car manufacturers around the country. However if this is the first time you’ve heard of the Automotive Keyless Entry Remote System, let us explain. Have you ever seen someone walking to their car and push a button on their key ring to unlock the doors? That’s all that we’re talking about here, but having the technology for it in the early eighties was simply fascinating.
So How Does It Work?
Basically it all works by broadcasting radio waves from your remote system to the vehicle. While this is standard in many different technologies out there today, back then it was simply a new innovation. In today’s world there are specific encryptions which will keep hackers from trying to intercept the signals and ultimately steal your vehicle.
Without going into all the computerized technology these Keyless Entry Remote Systems will open and lock your vehicle’s doors. They can also open the trunk or even sound an alarm if you notice someone snooping around your vehicle. Anytime you push one of the buttons on your key fob, you can expect the car to make an alternate noise or visual. It may be the sound of the horn beeping a couple times, flashing headlights, or even the hazard lights turning on and off. This keeps you from continuously pushing the buttons and possibly damaging the system.
Popularity and The Future
Over the years car companies have realized the popularity of Keyless Entry Remote Systems. It seems that almost every new car purchased today is presented with key fobs to make your life easier. In fact around 85%-90% of vehicles made are required to implement this technology in the new vehicles due to competitors. Eventually you will see all of them providing this to consumers around the world.
Newer versions have more features available like telling you the car is low on fuel. Others may let you know when the vehicle doesn’t have the correct air pressure in your tires, which translates into decreased gas mileage. Then of course there are RKE systems that can start your car in the morning to warm it up before work. Everything is gearing society towards the future as well as helping everyone combat car theft. All of these benefits wrapped into one remote, who would have guessed it right?
The Possible Downfall
The only downfall to these devices is simply preference. Some systems have the buttons sticking out where they could accidentally be pressed while in your pocket. Then of course if you own an older vehicle and want to integrate a Keyless Entry Remote System into it, a lot of time and knowledge is needed to set up the wiring. Definitely something you might want an expert to do for you.
When it’s all said and done the future is here and has been for several years regarding Keyless Entry Remote systems. Making our daily lives easier is what technology is all about.
