I just bought my car, and it was a steal for only $7,000. The only problem is that I have no power locks or windows, I can live without the windows but, I just dont like having to unlock my passenger’s doors all the time. I really do love my car, and it’s my first one, so I’m already attached.
Also, I couldn’t afford power locks or windows, but I might be able to manage adding them. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!!

Keyless Door Locks

Of the many locksmith services, installing keyless door locks for residential and commercial customers, as well as car owners, is one of the locksmith services that is increasingly in demand. Instead of using a key, a unique numerical combination must be entered in order to gain access to a building or vehicle. A locksmith in your area can probably provide these locksmith services. If you are concerned about security, a keyless lock installed by a qualified locksmith may be the perfect solution. A residential locksmith, commercial locksmith, or car locksmith can probably provide these and other locksmith services.

A car locksmith, also known as an auto locksmith, can install one of these systems in your vehicle. It will mean that you will never again have to worry about calling an emergency locksmith because you?ve misplaced your keys. Traditionally, an auto locksmith would have to use an auto locksmith tool to assist car owners with their locksmith car opening needs. Now, all you need is your combination. In addition, the worry that someone may steal your keys is also eliminated with a keyless lock installed by an auto locksmith. Only the people who know your code can enter the vehicle, and the combination can easily be changed. Residential customers can also benefit from a keyless lock system. All members of the household will be able to enter the home, day or night, so lost keys will no longer mean standing outside and waiting for a locksmith to arrive with their locksmith tool to provide emergency lockout/opening service.

As any locksmith will tell you, a keyless system probably benefits the business owner most of all. Traditional locks raise several security concerns. For example, an employee could make an unauthorized copy of a key in order to break in to the business after their term of employment had finished. A keyless entry system, however, can effectively eliminate these types of concerns. The combination can be easily changed, so only your most trusted employees will have the code, and you won?t have to worry about the costly process of having a locksmith replace the entire door lock.

A locksmith can install a keyless system for you. These locks are super secure, and thieves won?t be able to tamper with them by using techniques such as lock bumping. By enlisting the help of a locksmith to provide these locksmith services, you will be able to effectively keep intruders out while eliminating the problems associated with lost, stolen, or broken keys and locks.

In addition to keyless systems, a locksmith can probably provide other commercial and residential locksmith services. Why You Need Keyless Door Locks

Keyless door locks are a fantastic and convenient way of entering/exiting your property without having to carry keys. There are two main types of keyless entry locks, electronic and mechanical.

The mechanical type provides a push button keypad to allow the user to gain entry. The main advantage of the mechanical type is that it needs no power supply (either AC power or battery) in order to operate it so you don’t need to worry about power failure. This also makes it an ideal choice for exterior applications such as yard gates. These are simple, reliable devices that are easy to install as no wiring is needed. Being both hacksaw-proof and pick-proof and often fitted with a deadbolt mechanism, they provide an ideal, secure alternative to the traditional key lock. Of course you have the convenience of not having to search around for your keys for both entry and exit from your property.

But if you want a solution that provides sophistication and convenience there are several types of electronic keyless system to suit your requirements and budget.

The basic type of electronic keyless lock is a simple touch pad system that allows entry of a predefined code in order to gain entry. A more advanced type uses a keycard or tag to enter the property. Many hotels use this principle of door lock as the keycard can be programmed to only open certain doors. When used at home, the homeowner can decide who will have access when they are not at home. This is useful if you have a babysitter, housecleaner or even a handyman that need to gain access to your property while you are not in. This kind of system usually logs the time of entry and exit and can even switch on your lights when you enter your door.

Keyless entry systems are great for people with disabilities. People who are blind can easily operate a door lock system using a badge or tag and people who are wheelchair bound that may have limited use of their limbs will find it easier to enter their property.

It is not difficult to install a keyless entry system for the average DIY’er. Usually most keyless locks directly replace the existing door lock that is already in place so it’s just a matter of doing a straight swap. However a more sophisticated electronic type may need a professional installation.

For a keypad type entry system be sure to change the code every so often. The reason being is that thieves will get to know your code by observing the keypad for wear and dirt and this will show the digits used to allow access. If you only have a 4 key code then this narrows the combination down to 32 combinations of the 4 digit

Everything is right on your way in the blink of an eye with the click of a mouse. Amid this stupendous swiftness and modern gadget system would you still like to carry the conventional lock and key system? You have changed your profile; also change your outlook then. Grab on time and introduce the latest innovations to shape your lifestyle. Keyless remote holds a part of this change.

Keyless remotes for your car

Keyless remotes have introduced a new dimension in the automobile world. With its help you no more need to come near a car, push the key and then open the car lock. From a distance you can operate the whole thing if the signaling criterion is perfectly matched.

The locking and the unlocking systems are not manual. Keyless remotes are actually remote controls working through signals as involved in radio frequency. You are aware of the functioning of a TV remote control. How the pulse is sent that induces the generation of signals and via radio frequency the channel surfing is done. In case of keyless remotes the same thing happens. The difference is that it is not changing of the TV channels but opening and locking of your car.

Key processes involved

The modus operandi of a keyless remote is basically depended on two systems. One among them is the remote keyless entry system. This is the conventional mode of operation of a keyless remote. The remote is sending the pulse from a distance but that has to be within the signaling area to catch with the tower. Of course here it is the car or the vehicle and the pulse should hit with the right frequency to open the car door lock.

There is another system called remote keyless ignition system working to operate the keyless remote. It also depends on the pulse sending and signal receiving technique but this one is better in terms of security. How? In remote keyless ignition system the pulse is a message sent to the vehicle and the message has to be deciphered to process further. A trick is played over here. Who is more efficient, man or car? Therefore man only creates a secret path or code in the locking system and the unlocking is only possible with the same individual’s effort.

As in your laptop, you can keep everything under the security of a password, similarly in cars keyless remotes are designed considering the safety and security measures. Forget about the conventional lock and key and begin a brand new journey on car with a keyless remote.

Are you one of those people who try to avoid even the most minor annoying factors in your life whenever you can? If you belong to this category of people, you’ll want to do whatever you can to get rid of as many annoying daily issues as possible. You’ll want to do whatever you can to make your life simpler. For example, how many times do you have to dig your house keys out of your pocket or purse just to get into your house? How many times do you need to do it with a load of groceries or other items in your arms? It’s really annoying. Why not get rid of that annoyance and consider getting a keyless entry system for your home?

Home entry systems that involve a keyless entry process can let you get into your home simply by pushing a series of numbers or letters onto a keypad. The keyless entry system is usually mounted near the door handle for your convenience. You can buy these kinds of systems alone or in combination with a home security package. Before making your decision, take a look at the various home security options near your home.

With or without a home security system, the keyless entry pad gives you the convenience of not having to grab for your keys; it also prevents anyone from picking the lock on your door in order to burglarize your home. If you buy the entire security package, even if the intruder can get past the front door, the rest of the system – usually a series of detectors and alarms – will provide you with another level of protection altogether. Most burglars avoid homes that are guarded with keyless entries and alarm systems and will move onto another home. Your home would be effectively protected.

If you don’t know much about home security systems, check the Internet and explore the possible systems available to you. You’ll probably find more than one company that provides services in your area and can price the systems directly from your computer. Look for a company with an excellent record and one that has response times that are prompt and effective. Make sure the monthly fee is reasonable and that you don’t have to sign a contract for several years. In addition, you can look to see who in your neighborhood has the various systems and ask them what they think. Between the two, you’ll find a home security system that appeals to you and that can be installed in just a few days.

I think you’ll be happy with the decision to purchase a keyless entry system, especially if it’s in conjunction with a home security system. Your everyday life will be much simpler and your home will be significantly more secure than before. It’s not just a matter of getting rid of the annoyance of digging for your keys, it’s a comfort measure and security measure.

Say good-bye to clunky keychains and hidden emergency keys, with the new electronic deadbolt technology you can open your door with the press of a finger. These slick new units from Schlage are controlled by a keypad that can be automated from a computer or cell phone.

Throw away your keys and unlock your doors by entering a four-digit pass code. “Big deal”, you say ? “a key, a pass code, what’s the difference?” Well, it does have its advantages. You can assign each family member a separate code, and then program the device to advise you via cell phone when your kids or spouse gets home. Assign a different number to your babysitter or housekeeper and later review a list of which codes were used to open the house and at which times.

You can also program the system to turn on house lights when the door is unlocked so that you never have to enter a dark house.

An average starter kit is about $299 plus $12.99 per month to communicate signals from the lock to cell phone or computer. This allows you to program up to 30 separate doors.

An alternative to the keypad entry system is the RFID or Radiofrequency ID electronic deadbolt. Simply push a button and wave a special card in front of the door to access entry.

An even higher tech electronic lock is accessed via the occupant’s fingerprint. Not just for ultra-security corporations, these are becoming increasingly popular for residential use. It uses thermal sensors that detect if an actual person is applying the fingerprint. Some models have combination fingerprint and access code features. The Biometric fingerprint lock is the most popular version and identifies a person’s unique fingerprint pattern by using a scanner. This is considered the only true keyless entry door lock.

After speaking to various people who use a Biometric lock, I heard many similar comments. The fingerprint only detects correctly in about one out of four attempts. There also seems to be a problem with the initial registering of the fingerprints, and some people claim they are unable to ever have their fingerprint detected.

What Is A Keyless Entry Remote System

In 1983 this was a question millions of people were asking car manufacturers around the country. However if this is the first time you’ve heard of the Automotive Keyless Entry Remote System, let us explain. Have you ever seen someone walking to their car and push a button on their key ring to unlock the doors? That’s all that we’re talking about here, but having the technology for it in the early eighties was simply fascinating.

So How Does It Work?

Basically it all works by broadcasting radio waves from your remote system to the vehicle. While this is standard in many different technologies out there today, back then it was simply a new innovation. In today’s world there are specific encryptions which will keep hackers from trying to intercept the signals and ultimately steal your vehicle.

Without going into all the computerized technology these Keyless Entry Remote Systems will open and lock your vehicle’s doors. They can also open the trunk or even sound an alarm if you notice someone snooping around your vehicle. Anytime you push one of the buttons on your key fob, you can expect the car to make an alternate noise or visual. It may be the sound of the horn beeping a couple times, flashing headlights, or even the hazard lights turning on and off. This keeps you from continuously pushing the buttons and possibly damaging the system.

Popularity and The Future

Over the years car companies have realized the popularity of Keyless Entry Remote Systems. It seems that almost every new car purchased today is presented with key fobs to make your life easier. In fact around 85%-90% of vehicles made are required to implement this technology in the new vehicles due to competitors. Eventually you will see all of them providing this to consumers around the world.

Newer versions have more features available like telling you the car is low on fuel. Others may let you know when the vehicle doesn’t have the correct air pressure in your tires, which translates into decreased gas mileage. Then of course there are RKE systems that can start your car in the morning to warm it up before work. Everything is gearing society towards the future as well as helping everyone combat car theft. All of these benefits wrapped into one remote, who would have guessed it right?

The Possible Downfall

The only downfall to these devices is simply preference. Some systems have the buttons sticking out where they could accidentally be pressed while in your pocket. Then of course if you own an older vehicle and want to integrate a Keyless Entry Remote System into it, a lot of time and knowledge is needed to set up the wiring. Definitely something you might want an expert to do for you.

When it’s all said and done the future is here and has been for several years regarding Keyless Entry Remote systems. Making our daily lives easier is what technology is all about.
